Commission Projects |

So, you're interested in a commission project! Here's a basic explanation of how it usually works: We trade emails for awhile- let's figure out exactly what you are looking for and whether or not I can do it. I highly recommend that you look through all the projects I have already done to see if there is a similar project we might undertake. Some enclosures can still be found, some cannot. You might have an old project box that will work, too. Let's talk specifics both in terms of the aesthetic look and what the device actually does. As a rule, I don't do midi. Sorry, I'm just not that inclined. For circuit-bent projects, who is providing the circuit to be bent? Is it even "bend-able?" Do you want some kind of analog meter or superfluous blinking lights? Style of knob and the paint job are other considerations. How much is this going to cost? Sometimes I will consider trades. If you provide any of the major components, that will reduce the cost a lot (for example, you want a delay pedal re-housed into an antique meter case and you provide the delay pedal). Once we both agree on the cost, I ask that you send me a downpayment through PayPal. I like PayPal- it works well for me. Sign up for a PayPal account if you don't already have one. The downpayment is usually 50% of the project cost. This covers parts and materials I will have to procure and also demonstrates that you really want me to do this project. Once the parts are in hand and I start building (sometimes this can be up to 2 weeks after the downpayment is sent) I will send you a link to a page on my server that will have progress pictures. There can be a certain amount of give-and-take at this stage provided it is not a radical departure from the original plan. The project is finished! (you will get an email to that effect). What next? Now you need to send the balance of the payment plus shipping charges to my PayPal account. Once that is done, I will go to the post office and ship it out to you. I usually use USPS Priority Mail. Your package will be insured and I will provide a delivery confirmation number for you to track it. I have many satisfied customers around the globe. If something isn't quite right, I'll do my best to make it right. I offer free repairs (within reason) on most of my projects. If it is destroyed in a fire, I doubt I can fix it. But if you broke a knob or a jack or can't seem to get it to work, I will do everything reasonable to get you back on stage or in the studio. You only pay shipping. Questions? Send me an email!
